How well does your design solution fulfil the brief?
My design solution fulfils the design brief quite well. Both promotional materials have the required information on them as outlined in the assessment outline such as day, event and a slogan ‘Protect your sound’. The purpose has been fulfilled for both promotional items. Both items appeal to the target audience with them being bright and colourful to attract attention and have big writing for all ages to read easily. The photographs of the instruments portray to the audience that the poster and flyer is directed at musicians. I did not stay on schedule with the completion dates of each section but the assessment has been completed before the final due date. Hence, the design solution does not completely fulfil the design brief.
How clear and easy is your message to interpret?
The message of both the promotional items was clear and easy to interpret. The poster and flyer clearly state the event/day which it is trying to promote with the date of the event and the website. The message that is not clear is that the slogan ‘Protect your sound’ is referring to protecting musician’s arrangements and compositions; this is seen on the flyer but not on the poster. This is due to the keeping the poster simple with little writing so that it can be easily be understood at first glance that it is related to World Intellectual Property Day.
How is your design solution relevant for your target audience?
My design solution is relevant for my target audience because it is bright and colourful to appeal to the younger half of the target audience while having the information clear and easy to read for the older portion of the target audience. The poster’s and flyer’s font size is large so all ages can read it easily and understand the event it is promoting clearly.
Describe any changes you would make to your final design solution.
The changes I would make to my final design solutions are making the text larger for the date of the day and the website so it would be easier to read on both the flyer and poster; take a photo of the instruments with an actual background rather than having it transparent so it a stand alone image of the instruments; and create a better design structure for the poster and flyer as I am not happy with it.
